What I Learned Doing Counseling This Week

Updated: Jun 17, 2024

By Michael Ruben LICSW

We can create unhappiness for ourselves when we question, or negatively obsess over our decisions.

Do we have to get it right all the time?

Why do we seek perfection?

Decisions are only best guesses that we make using our heart and our mind.

Sometimes they work out wonderfully, sometimes disasterously and sometimes somewhere in between.

And often, our view of our decisions can change over time.

But they always lead us down the road.

Life is a journey.

Notice what you see on the path rather than being focused on reaching the next pinnacle.

The most important part of life is being present for the moments, noticing and appreciating where we are on our journey.
