THE FIRST FOUR LETTERS OF HEART ARE HEAR

Updated: Jul 8

by Michael Ruben LICSW

How often do you really listen to your partner? Are you glancing at your phone, going through your mental to-do list, multi-tasking?

How often do you mis-hear your partner’s words? Missing the point, or reacting from the past?

The two most important ingredients of a loving relationship are:

LOVE and UNDERSTANDING!

How do you convey understanding? With eye contact, curiosity, validation, echoing and follow up questions.

It’s vital to create time and space to truly converse with actively listening.  This keeps your relationship connected, loving and avoids misunderstandings.

Remember also, that the homophone of HEAR is HERE: being present, being connected, and being love.
